Gun Room Doors Certified EN1143-1 & EN1143-1 (T2)
S.I. No. 646/2017 regulations for the "Storage of Firearms and Ammunition by Firearms Dealers" which came into effect in 2019 and require firearms dealers to have a "manufactured steel door to fulfil the requirements of EN1627” or an "equivalent". It is also required that the door in question is fitted with a time lock. The problem with this requirement is European standard EN1627 covers "requirements and classification systems for the burglar resistant characteristics of pedestrian door-sets", not strong room doors, so unlike strongroom doors EN1627 doors are not designed to accommodate a time lock, while if a lockmsmith or technician were to somehow fit one it would invalidate the certification requirements under the regulations.
Below are entry level EN1143-1 certified strongroom doors, all of which far exceed current Storage of Firearms regulations. EN1143-1 (T2) options are certified to resist the most powerful tools available to burglars as reflected by the new (2019) CEN263 T2 tool list option which includes powerful cutting discs with more effective thinner cutting edges, carbide tipped hole cutters, tungsten tipped circular saws, thermic lances and more powerful impact tools.
