European Accredited Burglary Resistance Certification For Safes |
Accredited European certification of burglary resistance for a safe is an essential legal proof of standard to maintain your insurance cover long term. EU Parliament regulation 765/2008 created the system that provides the legal basis of accreditation for the certification of safes to European standard EN1143-1. European accredited burglary resistance certification for safes is backed by regular auditing, market surveillance and is verifiable, proof of standard for both insurance and litigation purposes. A safe with properly accredited European certification will display at least one stamped metal certification plate on the inside of the door. This will always be displayed on a stamped metal plate, never a sticker.
If you consider that 70% of safes tested for burglary resistance by accredited European testing labs fail on the first attempt the implications of accepting unaccredited claims of burglary or fire resistance are obvious.
An accredited certification plate for a safe will display the logo of an accredited certification body, burglary resistance grade and most importantly confirmation that the certification body is accredited to ISO/IEC 17065, legal assurance that the certifier is accredited under European law. The same information will be available on accredited certification documents which are freely available and should always be asked for.
 Safes bearing LPCB "certification" are regularly sold in Ireland despite the fact that the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) (UK) has never been an accredited to certify burglary resistance of safes. An LPCB plate can easily be mistaken for an accredited certification mark as the format of these plates is very similar to that of accredited certification bodies and will often reference European standards, however, an ISO/IEC17065 accreditation which will be present on an accredited certification plate is missing on LPCB plates. |

Wertheim Grade 4 Certified Safe - DWS1901
Wertheim of Austria manufacture the most highly certified, attack resistant safes in Europe and the DWS1901 is no exception. Coming from a long Austrian tradition of attention to detail and design, each safe Wertheim manufactures far exceeds the normal requirements of its certified grade. For resistance to professional attack Wertheim has few rivals.
The DWS1901 is a tough grade 4 safe with a roomy interior thanks to an advanced space-saving wall construction. Available with optional fire protection – tested and certified in grade LFS60P except models DWS0849 and double-doored models DWS1902 and DWS1904. The body is double walled, reinforced and filled with advanced, armoured, highly resistant barrier material. The door structure is triple walled, reinforced and filled with the same advanced highly resistance barrier. Internal bolt work is protected by sheets of hardened steel and several live re-lockers to provide additional anti-drill, cutting disc and torch resistance.
All Wertheim safes in the DWS series come with an integrated VdS certified cable channel allowing optional interface with an alarm system without the need for a door loop. All wiring is internal and the safe also comes with dual seismic sensor mounts.

The Wertheim DWS1901 safe is certified to European standard EN1143-1 for burglary resistance by the accredited certification bodies ECB-S, VdS and CNPP making it the most highly certified safe of its size and grade in Europe.

Accredited European Certification is verifiable assurance that a safe, fire safe, data cabinet or strongroom has been tested and certified under European law. This is proof of standard for insurance, GDPR and litigation purposes. A reputable safe supplier will always provide accredited certification documents for a certified unit. The safe, fire safe, data cabinet or strongroom will have at least one certification plate which can be located on the inside of the door. This will always be a stamped metal plate, never a sticker. The certification plate will clearly state the certification standard, the name of the accredited certification body and an ISO/IEC17065 accreditation.
